Key costs

Investment-infographic

The cost of setting up a Kumon Education Centre varies depending on a range of factors. This including location, type of venue, advertising costs and staffing structure.

Franchise fee

Our initial franchise fee when you begin a Kumon franchise is only AU$5,000. This one-off fee is far lower than other franchises.

New Franchisee Training

Training is conducted online. Basic software and internet costs will be necessary and all costs will be borne by the franchisee.

Start-up costs

Similar to initial costs involved in starting any business, expenses to consider when opening a new Kumon Education Centre include business registration costs, business infrastructure such as a phone and office set-up, stationery, marketing and advertising, hiring the essential services of a solicitor and accountant, and the relevant state and territory government checks required to work with children.

Operating costs

Key operating costs to consider as a new Kumon franchisee are Public Liability Insurance, rent, staff wages and royalty fees. A range of estimated start-up costs, based on our current experience with leased commercial premises and hired non-commercial premises, is outlined on the following two pages. New franchisees typically commence operation from leased non-commercial premises.
